Things to ponder..

Jay had a play yesterday. It was very amusind watching him sing through all the songs making sure his little bro was watching. Let me set the scene:
Jay on stage sing his little heart out.....................Chance not caring less about the world around him because he is reading a book...........................and Jax spitting up his whole 7 oz bottle all over me, about 3x, and smiling the whole time.
Funny dialogue by Jay: mom is red, Jay is blue.
You know, I used to love to watch Wheel of Fortune when I was kindygarderner.
Yes, you sure did.
Boy, that black boy is sure gonna be rich when he gets through with this game.
Yeah, he will have a little money in the bank.
He is gonna have a thousand dollars or somthin'.
It looks as though he will have around 10,000.
You memeber when we were in that Wal-Mart and they had a big screen t.v. for 1,000
dollars.
Yes, I sure do.
Man, them Wal-Mart people, all they care about is getting rich........I wonder if they are black boys too?
They are too funny sometimes.
They funny thing is, he was really put out by the whole scenerio, sighing throughout the conversation.

WOW

Here are some pics of my super hUmONgO 4 month old. He had his 4 mo ck up and he now weighs in at 14lbs 24in and is doing wonderfully. He is the happiest little baby with the cutest giggle you ever heard.
Chance and Jay are doing well. They both made the "A" honor roll this six wks. Jay just needs to work on his coduct grade judging by the huge "needs improvement" written on his report. Gotta love it!
One of the things we got to enjoy last wk was going to the circus. Yep, we had a circus. Granted it was no Ringling Bros., but it was a little excitement all the same. We had a wonderful time and Jax quietly ate his bottle and napped through the whole thing.
You will notice a picture of Princess taking interest in Jax's toys, it is always amusing to see her in action. I will post some pics of our little Toby Tyler soon, he is such a sweet puppy.

Hello

Hello everyone. Things are going well here in Big Spring. The boys are doing well and Jax is packin' on the pounds. Soccer is almost over and I am starting clinicals this coming tuesday which I am super excited about. Greg is doing well, working alot.
Jax update: Well we figured out he does not like peas, no way..now how. I will try and get a pick to show you, too funny. He does, however, love sweet potatoes, carrots, and fruit. Jax loves the fruit but it doesn't always agree with him. He is showing signs of wanting to roll over and he loves watching Mickey's Playhouse in the morning after his cereal.
Chance Fact: I know where the word "bearzirk" came from. You know the Vickings well whenever they would wear bear skins they would be really strong and could pick up cars, so they made the word up.
Jay Fact: Jax must be havin' growth spurts every 5 minutes cause he is almost as big as me. I wonder if he has growin' pains? Momma, if growin' pains hurt babies where would Jax hurt? Momma, I have been really good today cause the teacher only had to talk to me 3 times today!

Chance is too funny

Chance was too funny today so I had to take time out to post before I forgot. I took Chance to the dr today due to a spranged ankle. On the way their Chance said,"Ya know you can find strength in the bible."
Very much in anticipation of his response I said,"Really, where did you figure this out".
Chance- "It says in the bible, If you find the ant...you will find your strength".
"Wow", I said.
"Yep, you know one of those four guys said it...in the bible.....like Matthew or someone"-Chance.
"You mean Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John"-Cindy.
"Yeah, them guys....but I am almost positive it was Matthew"-Chance.
"How did you find out about that?"-Cindy.
"It's on the back of my ant farm box!....Find the ant and you will find your strength....cause ants can lift 10x or more their body weight....they are the true EXTREME animals....."
This continued on for a while and I have to say it was quite interesting.
After the dr appt I asked Chance what time he had lunch.
"HMMMMM, I don't know...Do you have Mrs. Peugh's cell number so you can call and ask her?"
"No actually I don't but we will ask the secretary when we get to school."
Well, apparently he did not here me ask the secretary because I got a phone call at 12:00 from the principal.
"Hello, Mrs. Garrett?....This is Mr. Martin from Moss Elementary. I have your son here and he said you needed to know what time he went to lunch......."
CAn you imagine?!
I asked Chance when I picked him up if he had talked to his principal today.
He said, "Sure did.....I went to him and told him my mom, Cindy Garrett, needed to know what time I went to lunch and you can call her on her cell."
At least we know now he doesn't play around with a chain of command, why mess around just go straight to the top!

Princess' new best friend

I would like everyone to meet Toby Tyler, Princess' new B/F. Did I mention how happy she is that Toby Tyler has come to stay with us. Toby is about an 8 mo. old Beagle with a great personality. We acquired him without cost from a very nice country couple. They were unsure if he could make it here in the "big city" so we are on a trial run.

Busy Busy Busy
Sorry I have not posted in a while, I go into further detail lower in the blog. I will probably only be able to post on the weekends now that we have all gotten so busy.

I thought this picture was too funny. I snapped it at the right moment to get a clear reading of the package. Jay was literally in my face wanting to eat chicken patties, his current fav. I can't complain, this meal he can actualy microwave himself. All the fuss was due it being a new package and the alarming thought of not being able to open it.

Sorry guys! I know I have not posted anything in quite a while. We are super busy. (By the way, super has been my new word since our Labor day trip)
The boys have began soccer, my school is really getting into high gear with tests every thursday, Greg has been working tons of overtime, and Jax has not been feeling well. Weww, made me tired just typing it. : )
Greg's birthday was this past week. We did not do much, but we did get to sing happy birthday and eat a variety of cheesecakes (thanks to our local wal-mart).

Jax and a Chance fact:

We went to the dr today for a minor problem and he weighed 10lbs and 15oz. He has doubled in size!
Chance fact of the day: Ya know, back in the mummy days, ya know, back in Egypt. People would grind up human bones and drink 'em. It would help with stomach aches and stuff.
Where did find out about that: In a book, books are full on information!

Rainbows in Big Spring
Jax (need I say more).....
Greg the "Snob"

Greg has finally realized and admitted that he is a food snob and a smell snob. I think everyone knows the food situation but it continues on to smells. Maybe everyone is aware of this but it just became a realization of mine. I bought a new car smell air freshener for my car and he kept asking me "Do you think that smells good?". About the third time, I realized that this wasn't the first time that aromatherapy was a factor for us. You could call it an epithany. This time I stood strong and said, "Yes, I do think it smells good and it IS staying." I then preceeded to make sure he was aware of how much of a food/smell snob he can be at times. He declared his awareness and had no quams about the fact!
Chance facts:

Chance facts are little tid-bits of information that are factual in Chance's world, but when questioned sometimes the whereabouts of these facts are questionable.
1. Rap dancing came from Africa, per Discovery channel.
2.According to Greek mythology, anybody with long hair (about a foot long) can lift up an entire car or something at least that big. Chance's exact words: Believe it or not this came from Animal Planet on a show about Bigfoot and a guy with long hair.
I will update as facts come about.

Interesting Facts

I think it is soo funny when the boys tell me stories of their school days. You forget the simple things until they are reminded to you by your children. Like the secret alliance elementary school children have.
The other morning Jay told me never to take Jax to Rainbow Daycare and I asked him why? Well, the other kids had told him that at "that place" they don't play, don't eat, just do work all day long. "They don't EVEn have recess!"
I wonder if they have lost any business?
I ask the boys everyday if they make friends at school. Jay said, "Ya one".
"Well whats his name?" I asked.
"I don't remember" was the reply.
The next day I asked if he remembered his friends name.
"NO, and I probably won't remember for a long time!"
Is that a hint?
Chance made a new friend today. This is what he had to say about him:
He is just like Jay. He likes dinosaurs. He broke up with his 2 other friends. He doesn't like girls. He thinks one kid is kinda weird cause he keeps askin to go to his house. He has blonde hair, ya know like my cousin Brandon but blonde. We made a rock garden. We will check it tomorrow.
~all this was said in a matter of a few seconds while were having dinner.
On the dinner note, I was taken by surprise when my boys saw what I was cooking and I got the........Awwwwww, thanks mom. Your the best mom. Look Chance momma so nice, look what she is doing for us. Ya, your right Jay. Mom your the best.
All this followed up with a hug. Do you want to know what I did?
I made the boys mac and cheese with chicken nuggets. Yep, thats it! So do you think their enthusiasm is a good thing? Hmmmmmm, I haven't quite decided. I am leaning more toward making sure they appreciate the little things than the depriving my children of the all american meal scenerio.

And Jax is doing wonderful, he is beginning to find his voice. It is so adorable to see him use every inch of his little body to get the most perfect coo.

My Boys

A new beginning.

So far this week has been surprisingly calm. The boys started their new school on Monday and Jax started going to the babysitter. I think this was much harder for me than him. Luckily, I had Greg with me the first day and he kept me busy. The longest I have been able to leave him is about 4 hrs. This week is a trial run since I do not start school until next week.
The boys like their new school. Chance's teacher is named Mrs. Peugh and Jay's Mrs.Rice. Jay informed his teacher that she was not allowed to call him Jay, only close family members call him that and that anyone else should call him Justus. So there!
Mrs.Peugh asked Chance if he was excited about school and he said,"No". The teacher asked if he liked math, the response was no. She then asked him if he would like the frog habitat, and boy did that spark a response........."Yeah, I had one of those and I had two frogs, they were red belly frogs and one died and the other lived for a while then it died they were great pets but you have to make sure you take care of them correctly........" . There was much more said but after a start like that I looked at the teacher and she had the look of, What did I get myself into?
Jay is going through a growth sprout (spurt), so he says. He cannot control the growing pains in every area of his body and he just wishes it would stop already!
Chance has convienced Jay that since he is going through a growth spurt that his stomach has evolved into two chambers therefore creating a whole new stomach and thats why he should go see a psychiatrist to close the portal of new stomachs. WOW!
We will see what tomorrow brings.

Poor thing got "spunned"

I have not spoken about our spastic kitty lately. This past weekend she was declawed and spayed. Chance being the future vet that he is was verbalizing how bad he felt for Princess. He was telling me how we needed "to take care of thing cause she just got spunned (spayed) and she must be feeling like half of a kitty with all her important parts gone!"
This is a picture of Princess sitting with Jax, one of her favorite hang out companions. She loves to curl up in his boppy and lie on his blankies.
