My Little Humanitarian

On the way home today Jay noticed some grafiti on the side of a building. He said he hates grafiti. Then he goes on to ask if we can go back and clean that up. I told him that usually the city takes care of such things (clever, eh?). He then went on to say how he needed to do some volundeer work. This is followed up with Chance giving an overview of the conversation and explaining how city VOLUNTEER work is done. He learned this in school and Jay would probably understand when he gets a little older, ya know like when you are in 2nd grade.

The other day Chance spilled a rather large glass of tea all over the floor. I explained to the boys how they needed to clean the area and got them a bucket, pine o pine and water, and two rags. Chance was not so into the job but Jay went so far as to ask if they could clean the kitchen floor like this every Saturday. I told him that would not be a problem : )

BY THE WAY............

THIS IS A MOSQUITO, for real !!!!!!!!!

Sixth Six Weeks

The boys made a great showing at the awards assembly again this six weeks.
Chance received "A" honor roll, good conduct, and perfect attendance. He also had recognition for his reading accomplishments. He got to go to a special hot dog party, he is reading on a 4th grade level!

Jay received "A" honor roll and good conduct. He has also been invited to be in GT (gifted and talented) classes next year. Sooooo proud.

I guess them doing so well in school makes up for the new vocabulary that has become part of my children's dialogue. Words such as Sweeet, Dah, Der, Awesome, and Ooh Dang are interesting to hear them say to say the least. I can't wait to hear some of the cute little words that come from a two year olds mouth from listening to his older brothers.

A Good Weekend

We had a wonderful Memorial Day wkend. Greg invited some friends over and we had a BBQ. The kids (and Greg) played and jumped on our new trampoline. They had two little girls to play with.

Then next day we went swimming at a friends house, which was much needed. It has been super hot. Jay sported his occasional attitude towards the end of the day.

Question?

So, I am trying to figure out if this is some crazy coincidence or if Mother Nature is playing a cruel, mean joke on me. Am I the lucky winner this week, or should I say unlucky? On the way to school this morning a bird decided to commit suicide and chose the front grill of MY car as its final resting spot. Luckily it fell off on the way home so no authorities had to be called.

Wild West part 2

This is another interesting little creature that popped up in our backyard. The boys made friends with this wind spider and began feeding it beetles, rolly pollies, and ants. This aggresive carnivore ate the abdomen and thorax according to Chance (those are exact words) but failed to get the head because it was clenched to his pinchers. The boys thought that the spider had met its fate so they buried it...........

The boys came in very distraught and began sobbing as they told the story of their little friend. Greg went outside to see if it was actually dead and unfortunately it had been buried alive. It was a sad, sad day.

Wild, Wild, West

For those who haven't heard the story, I was surprised this morning by something that probably would have never happened in Texas City. I was going in my backyard to make my youngest son water balloons for water day at his school. Minding my own business I opened my backdoor and stepped out to find a rather large (approx. 2 ft.), black feathered, huge clawed thing sitting there vomiting and pooping all over my patio. I froze for about a split second and ran inside to call the fire department (i.e. Greg). I assume he thought I was over reacting until he actually saw the thing hanging out on our porch because his response was, OH DAMN! Nevermind while I was on the phone he asked the luitenant if he minded going by the house cause there was something on the porch and his wife was freaking out, but whatever.
So the fire department comes and they don't want to touch it, then pest control comes and hauls it off. It took me about 1 hour to completely stop hyperventilating and another hour to actually calm down.

The next door neighbor mentioned that last week he found 2 wild turkeys in his backyard and a rattlesnake on his front porch. I am soooo not accustomed to this, any prayers would be appreciated.

Isn't it cute !!!!!!!!!
this is called a turkey vulture.

Discussing Genetics....

This morning we had an interesting conversation on the way to school. I have no idea why the boys began thinking about this but Jay asked if he was going to be grey haired when he is thirty like Greg or will it be more like when he is sixty. Simplifying genetics is not all that easy when the questions keep coming. Bottom line, the boys came up with the scenerio that Jax will be grey at thirty and they won't. My question is what made them start thinking about this, their simple answer, I dunno just thinking. It makes you wonder what goes through their minds!

They mentioned how they needed to google it on the computer by loggin it in and seeing what pops up. If they get any more computer savy I am going to be in trouble.

34 weeks and counting....

Here are some miscellaneous pictures of the weekend. I just keep getting bigger and bigger. Thank goodness it is almost over. Jax will be here before we know it.

Jax's Room

Yea! With help from Grandmommy, Nana, and Aunt Tif we are getting it together. The bedding Grandmommy got with the firetrucks is sooo soft, love it. Nana got the curtains and the shelves and without the furniture from Aunt Tif we would be lost. Here are some pictures of what we have gotten accompished with everyones help. Thank you so very much!

Visit from Nana....

Here are some pictures of the many things we accomplished while my mother was visiting. She was a huge help. She purchased picnic furniture, a swing for the front, and she got big tuperware bins to help us arrange the garage. Her visit made me feel so much better about things.

Farming......

The boys had their experience with ant farming. After an exhausting ordeal to get the habitat ready for the ants, they were finally placed in their new home. The next day they were all dead. The boys came to the conclusion that the two different species had a big war over territory and they killed each other. The next day they were sure to put all the same species in together. Unfortunately, plastic and direct sunlight don't mix and those ended up dead as well. I am told the next experiment will be a worm farm. They do not die as easy apparently.

Happy Mothers Day!

To everyone!!!!!!!
The boys made mothers day cakes at school. They came out really cute.........

above is Jay's......... below is Chance's................
(Their personalities are evident in their art, don't you think?)

This was soo cute I had to share. Chance made me a card to go with the cake.

Translation: Mom loves me
Offers Love
Talks sweet
Heart is loveable
(get this) Eats Everything
Runs fast

When I asked Chance about the eating thing he just replied, "Well, you do!"
I had no arguement. Jay colored a picture for me:

Under the picture it reads: My mom is special because she lets me play playstation.

Its Finally Over!!!!

Thank goodness! The semester is over and I am finally done. Now I can focus on the baby stuff, YEA! Well, I am 33wks and looking every bit of it. The kids have called me a Chubeta Wobbly (I try not to encourage it). My face is as big as a pumkin and I have hair growing in all the wrong places. Greg asked me if I was going to "take care" of my mustache. I still don't know if he was serious. Things went well at my dr's appt. The self proclaimed weight nazi did not give me a hard time this wk. For those who are unaware of his previous statement, his exact words were,
"Hun, you are only supposed to gain 4lbs. in a month, not 9".
Whatever, he is unaware of the pesky little virus that has taken up residence in our house this past couple of days. So, the 2lbs. he recorded me gaining was probably more like 7 considering I had to make up for what I had lost. All is far in pregnancy!
Well I guess I will go out on a limb here and post a pic. This was taken last Saturday before b-ball games (32wks). Everyone should understand this is hard for me.

HOT! HOT! HOT!

It has been super hot. I am not sure which is worse, the humidity or the dryness? At least with the humidity you still stay hydrated. There is no chance of that up here. I even got out and got some sun on my belly yesterday, although there will be no pics of that! (believe me, you would be thanking me)

Changing it up!

I just felt like changing things up a little. Sorry there has been a shortage of posts lately, we have been busy, busy. Hopefully things will pick up again next week (after the semester ends).
Here are some misc. pics....
